A bit of Elaine's story...
Elaine’s passion for art began in childhood, with one of her colored pencil and collage pieces exhibited at the Singapore Art Museum by middle school. However, she spent the next decade climbing the corporate ladder in hospitality before rediscovering her creative side after moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2019. Inspired by the region’s natural beauty, she experimented with various mediums but remained captivated by watercolor—its fluidity, luminosity, and ability to capture the ever-changing movement of water and light.
In 2024, she embraced her artistic journey fully, joining an emerging artist program, participating in art fairs, and eventually opening her own mini gallery and studio in downtown Washougal. Her expressive realism and impressionistic watercolor paintings celebrate the ocean’s moods, marine life, and coastal beauty while sparking conversations about conservation. As she continues to push creative boundaries—exploring new surfaces like wood panels—Elaine proves it’s never too late to return to what truly inspires you.
